I graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in English and Creative writing in December of 2024. I have been creating for as long as I remember, and plan to continue doing so.
I am grateful to have professional artistic experience across the board—creating custom portraits commissioned as gifts to loved ones, musical performance at summer cultural festivals, or collaborating with local businesses to design the perfect advertisement.
During my time in undergrad, I enjoyed working with the Sackner Archive of Concrete and Visual Poetry in the library’s Special Collections and Archives. I got hands on experience with materials from artists I grew up admiring. I was also a member of the Stanley Campus Council, bringing events to the Stanley Museum of Art and getting to meet artists from various backgrounds and disciplines. I enjoyed my time at the Belin-Blank Center as the undergraduate student assistant for Scholastic Art and Writing, bringing an awards program to the Midwest region for hundreds of talented young artists. Though I have graduated from my position, I was lucky to serve on the adjudication panel for this year’s young poets.
I look forward to what is ahead for me—long term goals include an MFA in poetry and an MA in Library and Information Science. I am greatly influenced by avant-garde interdisciplinary artists and am lucky to be based in not just a UNESCO city of literature, but where culture and community thrive.
